Local Food Security = 20,000 pounds

The SVFC Project is setting a goal of giving away 20,000 pounds of fresh produce.

Thursdays the farm will be focused on growing, harvesting, & delivery for the food pantries.  Come on out to the farm and give a hand.  The food pantries we serve are: 

• Buxton Community Cupboard
• Hollis Center Baptist Church Food Pantry
• Limington Congregational Church Food Pantry
• Riverside Methodist Church Food Pantry in Kezar Falls
• St. Matthew’s Food Pantry in Limerick
• Standish Food Pantry
• The Root Cellar in Portland

The volunteer group Cultivate of Support Solutions has taken on the responsibility of growing a garden at the farm for the primary purpose of giving food away to the Buxton Food Pantry.  We appreciate their willingness & dedication in all kinds of weather to work on this project.

The SVFC project began in October 2007, so far to date (Jan. '08) we have given away over 1000 pounds, only 19,000 more to go!
