  • 6 acres in organic produce and cut flowers production.  It's rolling fields slope down to the Saco River where you can hear Limington Rapids and the "rippling waters".
  • a winding trail through the woods along the river, gives you an opportunity to relax and enjoy nature.
  • a field trail gives you an educational understanding of organic farming as well as viewing our companion planting techniques and variety trials.
  • this year we are creating a "Child's Garden Haven", perhaps you'd like to help us.
  • four hoophouses specializing in tomatoes and our renowned sungold tomatoes and a large production greenhouse used for growing seedlings and crop production
  • a farm store and a retail greenhouse with an attached open air arbor
  • a workshop & training center for our volunteers & staff

The Fields.... Organic Produce, Companion Plants & Cover Crops

We are begin to plant greens in our hoophouses in March and then we begin planting outside our cold and cole crops in mid-April if the weather cooperates and plant continuously through mid-August.  Last Saturday of April is our volunteer Potato Planting Day.

We plant tomatoes and sungold tomatoes in our four hoophouses in April, which are tunnel frameworks with a clear plastic covering.  We roll up the sides in the hot summer and pick even after the frost until late October.

Sustainable cultivating practices include: straw or hay mulch, black plastic mulch, weeding, companion planting, cover cropping, and composting.

Produce can be purchased as a CSA member, at the Farm Store, and at one of the various Farmer's Markets we attend. For a list of our produce and availability go to Produce.

Flowers are planted in the fields between vegetable rows to encourage pollinators and beneficial insects for the vegetable crops. The flowers are cut and arranged in simple, yet beautiful bouquets sold at the Farm Store and at the Farmers' Markets. And as usual you can use your CSA membership for purchase.

Famous Kale from l..r: Lacinata, Red Russian, and Curly Kale with a hoophouse in the back.

The Greenhouses....Organic Plants and Perennials

We're proud to be the only organic greenhouse in the area to carry a full range of vegetable seedlings, bedding and cut flower seedlings, hanging baskets, herbs, and perennials. All grown without harmful pesticides and insecticides and growth hormones.

With all greenhouses in production we have an optimum of around 7750 square feet and all begins in February.  Seeding starts in our solarium, then we move the seedlings into our large production greenhouse, and then plants ready for sale go into the retail greenhouse. By the end of the summer the solarium is closed, the large production greenhouse is growing plants in the ground, and the retail plants are outside retail space and in the open air arbor.

For a full list of what we grow see Plants or Perennials.

The Retail Greenhouse is open 7 days a week, 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. from end of April through mid-October. CSA membership can be used for purchases.
